The purpose of the VSBA Task Forces is to strategically enhance the work of the VSBA and its member boards. Focused on networking, building effective relationships, and collaboration to focus on best practices, task forces strengthen the voice of school board members.
Students and Schools in Challenging Environments
The VSBA Task Force on Students and Schools in Challenging Environments was created to make recommendations to the Virginia Board of Education and the Virginia Department of Education on ways to help challenged schools in Virginia.
Task Force on Workforce Readiness
Created to study how career and technical education programs are being implemented in Virginia school divisions and how these programs are preparing the state’s future workforce.
Task Force on School Infrastructure Needs
The Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA) Board of Directors voted to establish a task force focused on assisting school boards in advocating for best practices and outcomes for improving the infrastructure of school divisions in the Commonwealth.
Task Force on Collective Bargaining
This task force was charged with studying and submitting recommendations to the Board of Directors for best practices and guidance for school boards when deciding to enter into collective bargaining agreements.
